The future of Ministry of Sound Club is under threat again! Mayor of London Boris Johnson plans to overturn last year’s decision to save our club and approve plans for property developers to build luxury flats opposite the club. Join the fight and help save our club by clicking here.

Please help in saving this incredible venue. It means so much to so many people and is a vault filled with many millions of good memories for clubbers and music fans alike.
When I was younger, I watched the legendary London Astoria and Hammersmith Palais be pulled down in favour of development and I breaks my heart to see it happen again.  The Astoria epitomised my youth and, whilst I have the fantastic memories of my time there, I hate that I can’t still enjoy it today.  I really hope Ministry of Sound doesn’t meet the same fate because it is a really special place and, as soppy as it sounds, it has contributed to the person I am today.  I have met tons of people there and, without Ministry, I probably wouldn’t have the current circle of friends that I enjoy spending time with now.
If you haven’t been I would highly recommend going there, sooner rather than later. Not sooner because of the threat from the develop of luxury apartments, but because the sooner it is in your life you will understand how special it is to me and so many other people across the world.

Modern Christmas Carol of the Day: The all-seeing all-knowing Tim Minchin was set to debut his latest controversy-baiting Christmas song on tomorrow night’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show.

But, at the last minute, ITV’s director of television Peter Fincham ordered “Woody Allen Jesus” cut.

“He did this,” Minchin wrote on his blog, “because he’s scared of the ranty, sh*t-stirring, right-wing press, and of the small minority of Brits who believe they have a right to go through life protected from anything that challenges them in any way.”

On the one hand, because “it’s 2011,” Minchin says he’s “really f*cking disappointed.” But on the other, because it’s 2011, he could take the footage of the song and upload it to YouTube so people who wanted to hear the song could.

Progress!

Tim Minchin is a genius
